Financing

 You can find a good number of banking and non-bank institutions in the province. There are at least eight (8) government bank branches. Three of these banks are in Dumaguete City, two (2) each are in Bayawan City and Guihulngan, and one in Bais City. Except for Bindoy, Dauin, Jimalalud, La Libertad and Vallehermoso, all the municipalities and cities of Negros Oriental have rural banks. There are a total of 30 commercial banks and 27 rural banks in the province.

     The premier lender to planters and agricultural cooperatives—the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP)—has branches in Dumaguete City, Bais City, Bayawan City and Guihulngan.

The non-bank institutions include 44 insurance companies (as of 2002), 97 lending institutions, 94 pawnshops, and 77 credit cooperatives.
